Blurry vision is a nuisance, and it can be worrying if it happens more than once. If you're dealing with blurred vision, give these tips a try. If they don't help to reduce the blurriness in your eyes, seek help from an eye doctor.

Rinse Eyes

One of the things you can do to help blurry eyes is to rinse or flush them out with eye drops. This will help to lubricate your eyes if they're dry, which can potentially cause blurriness. In addition, it can help to wash away any film or skin oil that could have gotten on your eyes.

It's not advised to use water from your tap to do this. The pH balance of water is different than that of your eyes, which can make them even drier in the long run. Chemicals in the water, like fluoride, can also potentially irritate your eyes. Only use eye drops or eye wash, and don't borrow it from anyone else.

Sometimes eyes can become blurry if they're tired. Giving your eyes some rest can help, but it's even better to do something to help put them back in focus right away.

One easy exercise you can do is to look far away in the distance for a few minutes. That's all it takes! This exercise encourages the muscles in your eyes to relax, helping to reduce strain and potentially blurriness.

Allergies are another potential cause of blurry eyes. If you've noticed that this seems to be a problem during certain months or seasons, that could be to blame. However, food allergies or sensitivities can also trigger blurred vision, so keep that in mind. If you think allergies are the culprit, visit an eye doctor or allergist to find out more.

See Eye Doctor

If these tips don't help or you keep having the problem, it's time to visit an eye doctor. Long-term blurry vision could indicate a bigger problem, like the early stages of developing cataracts. Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide, which means it a serious issue you shouldn't ignore. However, don't fret: cataracts are very treatable with cataract surgery, especially if you visit your eye doctor as soon as you can.

Eyes can become blurry for a lot of different reasons, so don't panic if you don't know why your eyes are blurry. If these exercises help, then you can rest easy that everything's fine. If your blurriness continues, consult with an eye doctor.
